"Oakhampton" B&B has been open since 1996 and has grown from strength to stength.It has won many awards as one of SA's best. Your hosts are Jon and Marlene Emslie who are both descendents of the 1820 Settlers, and have a passion for the Eastern Cape and its people.

"Oakhampton" B&B boasts 8 separate units, all with their own private entrances, DSTV, MNet and en-suite bathrooms. Adsl internet to all rooms on wireless lan . Coffee and tea facilities are available in each bedroom, together with home-made rusks or biscuits.

A Full English Breakfast is served everyday between 6.45 and 8.30 am, in the Tranquil breakfast room.The congenial atmosphere at breakfast provides a wonderful start to your day. Home made bread, filter coffee, carrot cake, muffins and home made jams are just some of the breakfast treats served at " Oakhampton". Should you require breakfast earlier or be on a special diet i.e. vegetarian, please make the necessary arrangements when you arrive. We also offer a pre-packed breakfast, should you be leaving very early in the morning.
We do not serve any other meals at Oakhampton, but we are 5 minutes away from all of East London's top restaurants and Mr Delivery delivers promply. We can pay for your meal and then add it to your bill. Refreshments are available.

Our check-in time is 4 to 7 p.m. and check- out time is 10 a.m, should you require a late arrival or check-out, please advise, and we will make the necessary arrangements.

We have our own craft area on the premises, it is from here that Marlene together with friends run a successful Cottage industry (Sheer Nostalgia). Guests are free to pop in at anytime, to purchase exclusive, handmade Country and Victorian gifts.

Marlene has a passion for the Victorian Era, and this can be seen in almost everything she does. The craft area is full of her own hand made Tassle Dolls, Lace work and ornaments. A laundry facility is available, but due to the volume of work the staff cannot always assist you. Make arrangements with Jon or Marlene for a time when the equipment is available for you to use.

There is an air-conditioned games room come ladies pub available for your enjoyment.(The pool table has been moved out). Refreshment are available by arrangement.
"Oakhampton" B&B is a Non-Smoking environment, however smoking is permitted in the games room, and ashtrays are available on the tables in the garden. We offer secure off road parking with remote control gates and with CCTV onto the front gate . Your safety and your possesions are important to us

A range of Business services are available including photocopying, facsimile, telephone, Wireless Lan Internet (24hrs) and E-mail. Please enquire should you need any more information.

"Oakhampton" has Two swimming pools for your convenience. The main pool is located next door at Hampton House, and the smaller pool is next to the breakfast room. Please ensure the proper care is taken when using these facilities, especially if you have small children with you.

Our beautiful home and garden setting is often used as a venue for Brides and Bridesmaids to prepare for the wedding ceremony in a relaxed environment. The garden is also often used as the perfect background for those all important wedding photographs.

"Oakhampton" boasts its very own Honeymoon suite with spar bath, satin sheets etc where complementary champaigne and chocolates are provided for the newly wed couple. A breakfast is served in their own private gazebo the following morning, weather permitting.

Rates:[Single R 400] [Sharing Per person R 250 ] This includes a full cooked breakfast, free off road alarm protected parking and all levies . We offer a cash discount on weekends and to pensioners. We enjoy children but cannot take pets as we have dogs, cats and birds. Our rooms are strictly non smoking but we have areas where you can smoke.
